Young Hollywood at it's Finest...

or not? Just when we thought they were doing so well, things seem to have taken a dark turn. Nicole Richie has reportedly shrunk down again, losing the weight she has gaine dover the past months. There are rumors of her entering rehab, but that didn't seem to keep her from going out to lunch and getting a manicure this past Tuesday.

Her size DOES appear to have gone down from the healthy size she was this past fall.

Also returning back to her old ways, is Lindsay Lohan. The star was in an accident Saturday morning around 5:30. Police found cocaine, which is believed to have been in use by Lindsay. Lohan was treated for minor chest injuries, and other passengers were not hurt. She was charged with a misdemeanor, but there is a chance she will face other charges. The actress/singer recently entered rehab in January, and has been attending AA meetings, which apparently didn't help prevent this unfortunate incident. You can check out the article here:

So, I know this is a fashion blog, but I just felt a need to post about this. I guess you can't rely on celebrities to do the right thing, but it's really a shame. I've been roting for BOTH of these young girls to get better.

Yo-Ho-Ho, a Pirate's Life for Me!

(Pirates of the Carribbean: At World's End; 2007; Keira Knightley as Elizabeth Swan)
I Don't know how many people will wear that outfit quite so literally, but I definately found a bit of inspiration in it. The costumes in Pirates of the Carribbean are wonderful, really. This one in paticular has definately sparked an interest.

The Movie was amazing! They never fail to be incredible. Unlike most movies, the sequels to Pirates were just as great at the original. I just saw it tonight with myself, and despite the fat lady sitting next to my mom who was farting the whole movie, we had a great time! I DEFINATELY reccommend you spend the nine dollars (it's getting so expensive!) and check it out!

Don't Litter, just Glitter!

(Spring/Summer 07, Marc Jacobs)
I'm thrown on the metallic trend quite honestly. I think it's great on the runway, but for real life, I'm not so sure. Accesories are definately great, and I love the little party dresses. They're very 20's. I just can't decide if I'll ever see myself in one.

Go Glow

Hm, I like the neon, but I can't say I like it here. OR the model's hairy arms.

Holland, England, and other random places

House of Holland... is currently pretty awesome. You can check it out here:

I am a big fan of the "SHE MIGHT BE PLASTIC BUT BARBIE'S GYMNATIC"

Unfortunately, they don't have that one on the site, which is a huge bummer. If you find it let me know! For a way to DIY the style, check out the June/July issue of TeenVogue.
My vision? Maybe something like,
"DON'T LOSE YOUR HEAD, K-FED!"

And I'm totally digging... the English countryside look. I don't know if it's "in" or not, but I love it. pretty skirts, cozy cardigans, wellies, all of it. It has taken my heart completely. haha

But then again, this is the girl who is obsessed with teacups and Alice and Wonderland, not to mention has almost mastered her British accent.

But that's really no matter, the point is, I'm a fan of the look and will definately be using it in my summer wardrobe.
Globe-trotting... or for the lighter of heart, state-trotting. I, the girl who gave up the opportunity to go to England when I was 3 or 4, all because the passport guy was a jerk and made me cry when we was supposed to take my picture. But now that I've matured a few years.. (or a decade) just pinch myself for that. Sure, I'd enjoy it more NOW, but still.
I won't be leaving the country this year, instead I'll be taking a small road trip with my dad through New England. I'm actually a tad excited. I'm ready to hit the road, Jack!
NEXT summer, it's off to Newfoundland for me, again with Daddy. *smiles big* (Okay, not the OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU I'M SO JEALOUS place to go, but it will be bautiful there.)
Then..bumbumbumbum, 16th birthday=Italy with Daddy. Yahooooooo!
Where are you off to these days?

On These Crazy Summer Nights..

I'm so happy that summer is basically here! While I am a fan of cozy winter clothing, I end up sweating in it during school, so I can't wear my pretty cashmere sweaters in class. I've ALWAYS loved summer wardrobe better than winter. It's very pretty and light; it makes me truly happy.

On my list of things that will be in my closet within the next few weeks:

-LOTS of pretty dresses
-More funky wedges and sandals (including gladiators)
-A new bathing suit (duh)
-A few neon-colored items
-Fun vest (gray perhaps)
-More silk scarves and things
-Some cute denim shorts
-Loose, flowy tops
-etc etc

I'm sure there's more..but give me a break! I'm tired hahaha
What are your summer necessities?

Summer Fragrance...

So, right now, I'm most commonly smelt in Chanel Chance, Eu Fraiche. I just LOVE the fresh smell of it! Chanel is better known for their classic and serious perfumes. When they introduced Chance, it was definately a signal that they were putting some more youthful scents out. This one however, is the lightest one yet, and I'm not complaining. I don't feel over-scented (not sure what that even means?) when I leave in the morning. In fact, I've gotten a TON of compliments. "Mmm, something smells good," "Oh, that's me," is a typical short conversation I have every day.

I have yet to actually PURCHASE it, but I am impressed by CKIN2U. It smells so yummy! It will definately be on MY list of summer fragrance must-haves!
What are your thoughts?

I'm so Psyched for...
Summertime (obviously.) But in paticular, everything you do at night(the the least possible dirty way haha.) Swimming, running around the streets with your friends, staying out late, falling alseep on your friend's couch, crickets, cool breezes, just everything. All at night. It's one of the best times in my opinion. (had to get that out haha)

Ciao!

Welcome to my new blog! My name is Kate..woohoo? haha

So basically this blog will be based on fashion. It might get into some other stuff, but you get the drift. It might talk about trends, celebrity style, DIYs, decorating, parties, people, life, beauty, whats on my mind, etc etc. I'll probably run out of ideas, so if there's something you want to hear me write about, email it to me! (I'll post where you can send at the bottom.) You can ask questions or ask for advice, tell me about something great you've discovered, or just something a little random that you want to hear me ramble on about! Also, send me questions you have about things I bring up, because I'd LOVE to answer them!

This blog is just being born, so I don't expect a lot of viewers at this time. HOPEFULLY, it'll eventually get more attention. Leave me comments too! They make me smile =]

I'm not gonna talk about "OMG i jst LyK lUv thT nw AF shrt!!" To me, that is not fashion. So if you don't want to hear what's REALLY going on, don't bother reading.

What is fashion? Let me give you a description I feel best desicribes it.

Fashion is a form of art. It is a way to express oneself and show originality and creativity. It is daring to be a little different and experiment with new ideas. It is presenting yourself well and showing proper etiquette. You can have on the most gorgeous outfit, but if you do not present yourself well, you will look like the most hideous thing in the room. Fashion is not a way to be "cool" or "fit in." It is showing people who you are and what you're made of, no matter what it means. Someone might make an excuse of "shirts with holes in them and baggy sweats is who I am, a sloppy and cheap person." No. That is not WHO they are. Who they are is what interests them, what they feel, and how they act. No person is really a dirty t-shirt or ugly pants. And dressing well is what is different between them and us. Because we CARE how we look, and want to show it off.

Yes, That would be the infamous me, posing as usual.

This isn't a "real" post, more of an intro to my blog.
